DENVER (KDVR) -- Flooding was reported at Rocky Mountain Arsenal Friday morning, adding to the road closures due to rain in the Denver area.Heavy rains continued Friday morning during a days-long storm that impacted drivers with flooded roads around the city. Road closures in Thornton due to flooding Water levels at First Creek were "extremely high and flowing fast" on the north side of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, according to officials at RMA.Wildlife Drive was closed due to flood waters flowing over the road and posing a danger to drivers in the area. A group of children living inside a home in North Lauderdale were rushed to the hospital as a precaution. It remains unknown what exactly happened at the home, but a dispatcher said something about neglect, and some neighbors were shocked, but others were not.Broward Sheriff’s Office’s Special Victim’s Unit and Child Protective Investigation Services are now investigating.The home is located along Southwest 66th Avenue and 15th Court.BSO deputies said they responded to the home Thursday morning as a possible domestic disturbance, shortly before 7 a.m.“Caller is advising her daughter hit her. CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A man has been indicted on charges of taking more than $230,000 from a New Hampshire charity and gambling much of it away at a casino.Kyle Fisher, 42, was indicted on four counts of wire fraud, U.S. Attorney Jane Young said Thursday.Fisher formerly lived in Grantham and now lives in Holly Springs, North Carolina. He was the executive director of a charity identified as LISTEN Community Services in Lebanon, which provides food, heating, electricity and housing assistance.A phone number could not be found for Fisher and an attorney was not assigned to his case yet, according to court documents. He’s scheduled for a court appearance on May 24.The indictment alleges that between February 2021 and September 2022, Fisher wrote unauthorized checks to himself and transferred funds from the charity’s PayPal account to his own personal bank account. NATIONAL CITY, Calif. -- A short pursuit ended in a crash that left one person dead Friday, said the National City Police Department. Authorities say they were pursuing a driver for a speeding violation around midnight when the individual fled in a car described as a Toyota on the 2000 block of National City Boulevard.The driver, who was described as a man in his 20s or 30s, lost control of his vehicle and was ejected after a short chase, NCPD said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.NCPD says all of National City Boulevard is shut down from 30th Street to 26th Street for an investigation. Authorities have advised motorist to avoid the area and say they expect the roadway to reopen sometime after 6 a.m. No other injuries were reported in connection to this incident.
