EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - A fiery overnight crash in East St. Louis sent two people to the hospital and has police looking for a driver Monday morning who ran away from the scene.The crash happened at the intersection of Route 3 and 8th Street. The scene is clear now, but earlier overnight it was a much different scene.This all happened around midnight or 12:30 a.m. East St. Louis fire officials told FOX 2 a pickup truck slammed into an SUV. The SUV rolled over and wound up in a ditch. Driver killed after semi-truck smashes into train in rural Missouri Authorities shared that the two people inside the SUV were taken to a nearby hospital with level one trauma. That means their injuries were serious. We’re told the driver of the pickup truck ran away from the scene here.The truck caught on fire after the crash. ST. CHARLES COUNTY, mo. - The Major Case Squad has been called on Monday morning after a man is murdered at a St. Peter's home. Two others were also shot.The shooting happened on Country Acres Drive, right off Theole Road. St. Peter's Police's Melissa Doss confirmed that at around 1:30 a.m., one man was found dead on the 1600 block of Country Acres. Driver killed after semi-truck smashes into train in rural Missouri Two other victims were also found suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the shooting, and the suspect, has not yet been revealed. ST. LOUIS - MetroLink is hosting public meetings on improving security and expanding the light rail system.These public meetings will be happening Monday and Tuesday. MetroLink will be revealing results of its online survey about its planned expansion. Safety has also been a recent concern.Breaking ground on the project is still a few years away. The expansion currently in the project management phase. A new north-south route would run along Jefferson Avenue, from Chippewa, to Natural Bridge.
