Judge to keep Chesterfield teen in D.C. jail for now ST. LOUIS - The Chesterfield teen who federal agents said rammed barriers near the White House will spend the weekend in jail.Sai Varshith Kandula, 19, has been given a federal public defender. A judge decided to keep Kandula behind bars until at least Tuesday, when another detention hearing has been scheduled.A prosecutor argued Kandula may be a flight risk because he is not a permanent United States resident.He's been charged with depredation of government property, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Two students go national after Fox Theatre St. Louis High School Musical Awards ST. LOUIS - Friday was the sixth annual St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards. With 34 schools, over 2,500 students, and a packed theater, two winners are now packing up to compete nationally in New York.The center stage is where groups of high schoolers from St. Louis and surrounding areas gather to showcase their talents. For Noelle Sonderegger, the news of her nomination as an outstanding lead actress is a goal she shared with many other students who have been practicing for months."To be on the stage where I’ve seen Wicked and Les Mis, and I mean so many incredible actors and actresses… the fact that I can be up there is insane," said Gage Williams, a senior at O'Fallon High School. Suspect arrested in Aurora fatal shooting involving driver crashing into 7-Eleven A suspect has been arrested in a fatal Aurora shooting involving a driver crashing in to a 7-Eleven store.Kali Collins, 21, of Denver, was arrested Friday on investigation of first-degree murder in connection to an early morning shooting in the Centre Pointe neighborhood, police said in a news release. Officers responded to 15550 E. Robbery suspects caught after high-speed chase in Los Angeles County A group of robbery suspects were caught after a high-speed chase through Los Angeles County on Friday night.Four suspects were inside the vehicle when the pursuit began in Bakersfield. Officers continued following the suspects into L.A.
