JENNINGS, Mo. - A search is underway for a suspect accused of firing shots Wednesday afternoon at one north St. Louis County park. Police responded to Koeneman Park around 3:15 p.m. after a shot spotter alert was activated. ST. LOUIS – A former prosecutor in the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office could be the most important witness in the upcoming trial against Kim Gardner. There’s also an attempt to silence her, which is very much out in the open.Natalia Ogurkiewicz came forward during arguments about what the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office should have to turn over. Ogurkiewicz, a former violent crimes prosecutor, spoke out in court, essentially saying, “I’ll turn it over.” She immediately felt the heat.Outside the courtroom, Ogurkiewicz told the media, “This is an incredibly, incredibly uncomfortable exposed position for me to be in, but somebody has to do it in order for all of you to have all of the information that I feel that you need.”Ogurkiewicz spoke out after Tuesday’s four-plus hour hearing, as Gardner supporters sometimes shouted over her. SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Adam Wainwright is one step closer to beginning his sendoff season after completing a rehab start Wednesday in Springfield. Wainwright stretched out to three innings and 59 pitches in his first rehab outing since an abrupt groin injury. He limited damage to just a two-run home runs and four hits. The 41-year-old also struck out three without issuing a walk, topping out if the mid-80s for pitch speed. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Max Scherzer was ejected from the New York Mets' game at the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday after umpires did a customary check of his glove before the bottom of the fourth inning.Scherzer was furious when tossed by umpire Phil Cuzzi following the inspection of his glove and a lengthy conversation that included plate umpire Dan Bellino, the crew chief.
