8 people shot at Carson house party, leaving 2 in critical condition

Authorities are investigating after eight people were shot at a crowded house party in Carson overnight. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a shooting took place at a gathering at a home in the 1500 block of Abila Street around midnight on Saturday. Neighbors say at least 50 teens were attending a pool party at the end of the cul-de-sac off Martin Street. Police believe there may have been a fight or an argument leading up to the shooting.A female teenager was shot in a car, while the other victims were struck on the sidewalk or in the roadway, investigators said.Police say that civilian drivers transported victims to local hospitals and that all the victims were between 16 and 24 years old.Six victims were said to be in stable condition, with one being released from the hospital, LASD officials said at a press conference on Saturday afternoon. DENVER (KDVR) -- Large quantities of fentanyl pills and methamphetamine were found in a car traveling from Phoenix, Arizona to Denver, the Arizona Department of Safety said.An Arizona state trooper stopped the driver of a Toyota Camry for moving and equipment violations on northbound Interstate 17 in Anthem, Arizona on June 5, according to the department. This is the first time in Denver's history that there was not an 80-degree high this far into June since records have been kept in 1872. So far, the temperatures have mostly been below average throughout the month.
