Driver killed when car plunges to beach near Davenport A Texas man was killed Friday when his car went off Highway 1 north of Davenport, the California Highway Patrol said.The single-car crash was reported at 3:25 p.m. by another motorist who saw the Subaru Outback go off the cliff at the west edge of the highway. Emergency responders saw the car in the water along a narrow strip of beach about a mile north of Scott Creek.The body was recovered with the help of a helicopter crew. Denver weather: Dry Saturday, rain chances for Mother's Day DENVER (KDVR) -- Saturday is shaping up to be the driest day of the weekend, with partly to mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 60s.There is a chance for an isolated storm later this afternoon, but the rain chances ramp up as we head into the overnight hours. Mother's Day brings rain chances off and on throughout the day, nowhere near as much as what we saw earlier this week but it may add another ½ inch to an inch of moisture.Temperatures for Sunday will be cooler in the mid-50s.Monday starts our warm-up!
