Chicago Police host gun turn-ins, gift cards for all guns including BB and air guns

CHICAGO — Chicago's police department is hosting a series of "no questions asked" gun turn-ins this Saturday.The turn-ins will take place in all five of the city's police areas. According to a department press release, all guns turned in will receive a $100 gift card per item. The department will also be accepting BB guns, air guns, and replica guns though those will only be worth a $10 gift card. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Six of the 15 fastest-growing cities in the United States were in Texas, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.Georgetown, Texas topped the list with a population increase of 14.4%.“Georgetown, Texas, remained the fastest-growing city by percent change in 2022, with the highest rate of growth among all U.S. cities and towns with at least 50,000 people,” said Crystal Delbé, a statistician in the Census Bureau’s Population Division. Following Santa Cruz, California, the next three fastest-growing cities were also in Texas — Kyle, Leander and Little Elm. AUSTIN (KXAN) — A major race returns to Circuit of the Americas this weekend, as the Fanatec GT World Challenge America will take place on the track.Along with sports car racing, the three-day festival of speed is offering engaging activities for fans of all ages.Kids age 12 and under are free with the purchase of an adult ticket. WARRENSBURG, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A couple from Warrensburg has been charged with grand larceny, according to State Police. Mariah Denes, 21, and Jordan Knopka, 39, were arrested on May 18. The investigation yielded that Denes stole a check issued to the victim which was valued at over $1500. State Police say Denes then gave the check to Knopka, who deposited it into his bank account without permission or authorization. Both parties then allegedly spent the money. NEW PALTZ, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Law enforcement agencies are investigating a Dodge Ram pickup truck that ended up in the Wallkill River. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - One man was killed, and one woman is hurt after a shooting late Thursday evening in north St. Louis County. The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday at a parking lot in the 100 block of Shepley Drive. It's the second shooting reported from that same general area this week, with police also investigating a deadly shooting in that same block on Monday.
