Man killed in wrong-way, multi-vehicle crash Wednesday

THORNTON, Colo. (KDVR) -- More details have emerged in a deadly wrong-way crash that shut down southbound E-470 near York Street in Thornton for several hours Wednesday.According to the Colorado State Patrol, the 86-year-old driver of a Dodge Caravan was from Loveland, did not use a seatbelt, and died at the scene. Three other people were taken to a hospital after the crash. A 73-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet Volt was seriously injured along with 72-year-old male passenger. Both were from Aurora. A 27-year-old woman from Loveland driving a Honda CR-V without a seatbelt was also seriously injured. DENVER (KDVR) -- The National Park Service is giving the gift of free entrance to its locations on six fee-free days in 2024.With 13 national park sites within Colorado's borders, that means travelers seeking to cross some of Colorado's national parks off their bucket lists in 2024 have some options to save money on entrance fees. Buffalo Bills edge rusher Von Miller on Thursday disputed the allegations of him assaulting the mother of his children, who is pregnant, by calling them “100% false” and “blown out of proportion.”In addressing the media for the first time since turning himself into police in suburban Dallas on Nov. 30, Miller acknowledged he and his girlfriend “have problems just like any couple does.” But he then stressed they have not involved “any of those things that was alleged against me.”“It’s overblown. A Toronto woman is facing multiple charges after police allege a parking officer was hit by a vehicle while conducting enforcement in the city’s east end Wednesday evening.According to a statement issued by Toronto police, the incident happened at around 9:50 p.m. in the Wineva Avenue and Queen Street East area near Kew Gardens.The statement said the parking enforcement officer was on patrol when they came across a vehicle illegally stopped. It said the officer asked a woman to move her vehicle. Ottawa is offering a lifeline to people fleeing an escalating civil war in Sudan if they have relatives in Canada who agree to financially support them.Immigration Minister Marc Miller says this new humanitarian pathway is for both Sudanese citizens and other foreign citizens who lived in Sudan when conflict broke out in mid-April.The program applies to people who are either a child, grandchild, parent, grandparent or sibling to a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.Those relatives have to agree to financially support them, though Ottawa has not said how much money this will require.People must apply for the program and complete the typical security and biometric screening used for visa applicants, such as fingerprinting.
