NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Colby Shade and Drew Cowley hit back-to-back RBI doubles in the seventh inning to lift No. 2 seed Oregon to a 5-4 victory over No. 3 Xavier on Friday in the Nashville Regional.The Ducks (38-20) trailed 4-3 entering the bottom of the seventh before a one-out double by Rikuu Nishida. Shade tied it with his double and Cowley, who finished with two RBIs, delivered the go-ahead run with his double. Four Oregon relievers held the Musketeers (37-24) without a hit over the final six innings. The city of Kingston is taking another step in its effort to remove an encampment at Belle Park that has remained at the centre of the region’s conversations around homelessness for several years. After initially issuing trespass notices in March to those on site, the city says it has relied on voluntary compliance to move residents and has not forcibly removed anyone.Several months after the eviction notices were distributed however the city says about 25 people remain in the encampment, leading to an application for a ruling from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in order to remove the encampment at Belle Park. CENTENNIAL, Colo. (KDVR) — Firefighters were responding to an apartment fire on Friday afternoon in Centennial.SkyFOX flew over the scene at 2301 E. Fremont Ave. The roof of what appeared to be a row of two-story apartments or townhomes had collapsed over multiple units.According to South Metro Fire Rescue, the roof collapse was partial. A private ambulance was stolen on Friday afternoon, leading to a series of crashes in Broward County and leading police to take a woman into custody. The chaotic series of events began at the intersection of University Drive and McNab Road in Tamarac, at around 1:13 p.m. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, authorities received a call reporting the theft of the ambulance. Deputies from BSO’s Tamarac District responded to the scene and began trying to locate the stolen vehicle.An employee of the ambulance company was inside when it was taken. Fortunately, the employee managed to exit the vehicle safely after the theft occurred.Shortly after, the stolen vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Pine Island Road and McNab Road in Tamarac. Heavy rain and strong to severe thunderstorms moved Southwest to Northeast across most of our mainland areas of South Florida. Some spots flooded from all the rain. The flood watch that had been issued earlier in the week for coastal and metro areas of Miami-Dade and Broward has now been extended through at least Saturday evening as the potential for more heavy rain remains in the forecast through the start of the weekend.Clouds will linger over our area tonight with the possibility of a few showers still developing.
