1 man has died and eight far more have been injured, right after a van ploughed into a group of folks outdoors a mosque in Finsbury Park, North London.
The incident occurred just right after midnight when the van mounted the pavement and struck a group of folks close to Finsbury Park Mosque. The police have arrested a 48-year-old man – and are mentioned to have no other suspects at this time.
Theresa Might has said that police are treating the incident in Finsbury Park “as a prospective terrorist attack”. She will be chairing a meeting of the Cobra emergency committee this morning.

1 man described the attack to the Press Association, saying:
“The gentleman went straight down this road, folks have been just conversing, speaking, just performing what we’re performing. And he just came into all of us.
“There was a lot of folks. We got told to move straight away. I was shocked, shocked, shocked. There have been bodies about me. Thank God I just moved to the side, I just jumped. Everybody is hurt. Everybody is truly hurt.”

Abdul Rahman, a witness who was in the region at the time, told the BBC he helped subdue the attacker.
“When the guy came out from his van he wanted to escape, run away and he was saying ‘I want to kill Muslims. ‘I want to kill Muslims. I hit him on his stomach… and then me and the other guys… we held him to the ground till he couldn’t move. We stopped him till the police came.”
London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, released posted a statement through Facebook, in which he mentioned: “We do not but know the complete particulars, but this was clearly a deliberate attack on innocent Londoners, numerous of whom have been finishing prayers through the holy month of Ramadan.”
“While this seems to be an attack on a distinct neighborhood, like the terrible attacks in Manchester, Westminster and London Bridge it is also an assault on all our shared values of tolerance, freedom and respect.”
